Back on the false-belief beat...sort of.
I've previously written about false belief formation from the standpoint of neuroscience. One current prominent category is the delusion, mostly on the right, that President Obama is thought to be hiding something really big. These days it's his citizenship: "Birthers" claim that he is not a Hawaii-born US citizen eligible for the presidency (never mind the 1961 newspaper announcements and this thorough debunking).
And now the queen of the Birthers, Orly Taitz, has finally managed to get a court date.
Lead Birther Orly Taitz, who is a dentist, real estate agent, and self-taught lawyer, has been filing federal lawsuits to remove President Obama from office. She has not been deterred by the observation that this would violate the Constitution's separation of powers.
Now Orly Taitz finally has her court date...for driving at amazingly reckless speeds. (see also the Orange County courts - pick "Traffic" and type in case 14852LC)
Combined with the dismissal of her federal lawsuits, as well as $20,000 penalty she had to pay for frivolous court filings, it's starting to look like she has a fairly tenuous relationship with the law.
